Walk A Mile 2016 is almost here!

We are just days away from Friday’s Bow Valley Walk A Mile in her Shoes event in support of the YWCA of Banff!

Over the last few years a friendly rivalry has developed between the Towns of Banff and Canmore.  Canmore took the overall fundraising crown in 2014, Banff won it in 2015, and as of this writing it looks like this year’s title is Canmore’s to lose.  I spoke with Kelly Gibson and Shawn Carr from the Town of Banff team about why they walk and to get a few fundraising tips.

I also had a chance to speak with Paula Krupa and Amber Forest from the YWCA about the event and how the money raised really makes a difference preventing domestic violence in our communities.

It’s not too for guys to sign up to walk down Banff Ave in heels on Friday afternoon!  You can also volunteer or pledge at this link.
