Elite runner Dave Proctor is set to dip his toes into the Pacific Ocean tomorrow morning with the goal of reaching the Atlantic 66 days later, averaging 108 km per day. If he pulls it off it would break a world record for crossing Canada on foot, a record that hasn’t been broken in 27 years. Dave is doing this for his son Sam and other Canadians living with rare diseases, hoping to raise $1 million through his Outrun Rare initiative.

Tony Smith from Grizzly Events will be one of the many people cheering Dave on.  I spoke with him about the run and Dave’s stop in Canmore next week

You’re invited to meet Dave when he stops and refuels during Wing Night on Wednesday, July 4th from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at the Drake Pub in an event organized by Strides Canada. You can also run alongside him as he departs Canmore on July 5th. Click here to learn more.
