RCMP Canmore Theft and Credit Card Fraud; Suspect Sought

Canmore, Alberta – Canmore RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance to identify unknown culprits responsible for theft in the Canmore area. Sometime during the overnight hours of January 20, 2018, unknown culprits entered a vehicle parked in the Silvertip area of Canmore. Several items were stolen from the vehicle including credit cards, cash and personal belongings. On January 21, 2018 between 6:00 am and 7:30 am, a unidentified male attended various businesses in the Canmore area and utilized the stolen credit cards for several purchases.

Police have obtained surveillance footage of the suspect male and the vehicle he was driving. The licence plate affixed to the vehicle was later found to have been stolen.

The male is described as:

  • Caucasian male;
  • short, lighter coloured hair;
  • slight build;
  • wearing a Helly Hansen blue work coat;
  • black ball cap;
  • black t-shirt
  • blue jeans and black work boots.
The suspect vehicle is a newer Dodge RAM Sport Pick up truck with:
  • extended cab;
  • short box;
  • tool box in back.
Police urge anyone who may have information regarding the identity of the suspect to contact Canmore RCMP at 403-678-5519.
