7stories

Having recently performed the extremely popular Missed Connections in the artsPlace Black Box Theatre, Sour Dog Theatre is back with 7 Stories by award-winning Canadian Playwright Morris Panych for one night only on Friday, June 17th.

A man is perched on the ledge of an apartment building preparing to plunge to his death. All about him the building’s inhabitants pop in and out of their windows revealing snippets of their own incongruous lives. As he contemplates the meaninglessness of his existence he is unexpectedly and suddenly set free.

Director Shawn Kinley and Sour Dog Theatre founder Ali Froggatt spoke with me about why this show remains a popular one to perform across Canada.

On a personal note, I was part of a production of this show in Canmore about a decade ago and it remains one of my all-time favourite scripts.  It’s both hilarious and poignant and features an ending you won’t expect!  I highly recommend checking it out.

Advance tickets available on the artsPlace website.
