Do you need a lift between the Bow Valley and Calgary? Are you making the trip yourself and looking for ways to split the cost of gas, do something good for the environment, and have some company? Poparide, also known as Pop Rideshare, officially launches in the Bow Valley today!

Flo Devellennes is one of the founders of Poparide (formerly HitchPlanet), an initiative that began as an idea to help people commute between Vancouver and Whistler and is now rapidly expanding across North America.  He tells us what Poparide is all about.

The Poparide service has been running on a trial basis in our area for a little while now and already has some drivers signed up, with rides to and from Calgary now available regularly.  Riders can also get to destinations farther afield.  For example, a driver is currently offering a trip from Banff to Revelstoke on Friday for $5, and Flo himself can get you to Vancouver this weekend for $50.  Visit their website to find out more or download the Pop Rideshare mobile app.
