Katy Perry is making a powerful return, ready to dominate the summer! The 39-year-old “Firework” singer has just announced her new single “Woman’s World,” set for release on July 11, with the accompanying music video debuting on July 12. This track will be the lead single from her forthcoming sixth studio album, still under wraps.

“Woman’s World” marks Perry’s first new music since her 2020 album Smile. To tease the new release, Perry shared a snippet of the “sexy” track on TikTok and Instagram, lip-syncing to the lyrics “sexy, confident/so intelligent/she is heaven sent/so soft, so strong” while donning a white mesh bikini and metal boots, which are also featured in the single’s artwork.

The announcement follows Perry’s emotional farewell on the May 19 finale of American Idol, where she hugged fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie as season 22 champion Abi Carter sang Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?” Back in February, Perry revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that this season would be her last as a judge.

“I love Idol so much,” Perry told Kimmel. “It’s connected me with the heart of America, but I feel like I need to go out and feel that pulse to my own beat.”

Since joining Idol in 2018 alongside Bryan and Richie, Perry has enjoyed a seven-season run. She confirmed that her fellow judges knew about her departure and hinted at her upcoming plans, saying, “I love the show so much but I wanna go and see the world and maybe bring new music.”

“Woman’s World” is now available to pre-save and pre-order.
