Jah'kota performs at Banff Centre for National Indigenous Peoples Day

It’s National Indigenous Peoples Day!  There are a ton of activities going on around the Bow Valley today, including a free show at Banff Centre’s Jenny Belzberg Theatre with Afro-Indigenous hip-hop and R&B artist Jah’kota.

Jah’kota joined me on the show today to talk about his music, the inspiration for his lyrics, and how excited he is to be performing in Banff tonight.

Other National Indigenous Peoples Day activities include the big Mini Thni Powwow and a free shuttle from Canmore to attend, online Indigenous film screenings, as well as an Indigenous market and culture space in Banff’s Central Park this afternoon and the Taste of Cultures at the Whyte Museum.
