Following up on our coverage of this story and interviews from the Yellowstone to Yukon Conversation Initiative and Three Sisters Mountain Village, Canmore Mayor John Borrowman sat down with Alana and me on today’s Mountain Insider for a two-part segment on the decision around the Smith Creek Wildlife Corridor and the government’s presentation to council on Tuesday.

We discussed the decision itself, the sentiment among some in the community that the remaining Three Sisters lands should remain undeveloped and what that would actually mean, and how community wants and needs may factor in to council’s decision when the Area Structure Plans land in front of them.

Mayor Borrowman also wanted to talk about another critical part of this discussion – human use of the wildlife corridor system – and tied that in to recent council decisions in the Quarry Lake area.
