When Canmore’s Rachael Rodgers put up a picture on Instagram of her dog in a canoe and it ended up going viral, she came up with a brilliant idea.  What if she could use the power of social media and the attraction of animal and mountain scenery photos to bring attention to some dogs that could really use it?  Since then, she’s worked with a number of rescue organizations to take dogs up for adoption on mountain adventures and share photos and stories about their personalities in the hopes of helping them find a good home.

I spoke with Rachael about her social media journey that’s now attracted over 71,000 followers on Instagram.

You can follow Rachael on her @trailsandbears Instagram account and her Rachael Rodgers Photo Works Facebook page.
