Today is another Canmore & Area Health Care Foundation Awareness Day!  We’re spending the day speaking to members of the Foundation and the community about local health care and the many projects supported by the organization.

Steve Scott is the chair of the Canmore & Area Health Care Foundation board. He spoke with me about why he wanted to be involved in that level and their upcoming golf tournament on June 13th.

Belinda Fox is the newest member of the Canmore & Area Health Care Foundation board, and also a relatively new member of our community. She spoke with me about her lifelong passion for rural health care.

The above are concept sketches for what they home to turn the Golden Eagle View Long Term Care Centre into with their Feels Like Home project. Katharine Scheel is the long-term care manager at Golden Eagle View; she spoke with me more in depth about the importance of Feels Like Home and why she loves working at the Canmore Hospital.

Foundation board member Pierre Doyon spoke with me about why financial contributions are so critical in keeping our local health care service top-notch.

Julie Denouden is the coordinator of the P.A.R.T.Y. Program in the Bow Valley.  We discussed the impact this annual event has on our local Grade 9 students and how it’s supported by the Foundation.

Soulafa Al-Abbasi is the Executive Director of the Canmore & Area Health Care Foundation. We spoke about a variety of subjects, including their new Art Cart initiative, Endowment Fund, and Soulafa’s recent nomination for a big award.
