Meet Gus! Gus is an autism service dog who now calls Canmore home. He’s been helping Barb Scott’s daughter with regulation and safety in her day-to-day life.

Through the process of acquiring a dog guide through the Lions Foundation in Ontario Barb was surprised to find out there’s no government funding for this important program that provides animals to assist those living with vision and hearing loss, seizures, diabetes, autism, and more. In fact, demand is so great that many of the wait lists for service dogs are now closed.

That’s why Barb got involved with the Walk For Dog Guides event in Canmore this Sunday. She says it’ll be a fun afternoon with musicians busking along the route, swag bags and more in support of a great cause.

Registration for the Bow Valley Buskers Walk For Dog Guides begins this Sunday, May 28th at noon in Canmore’s Riverside Park, with the walk getting underway at 1 PM.  Click here to sign up in advance and collect pledges.
