I have many memories of skiing Fortress Mountain, from holding up a childhood ski lesson for 45 minutes because I kept falling off the T-Bar, to skiing deep powder during one of the final days of lift operation under the old ownership over a decade ago, wearing down my cars suspension on the cratered access road to arrive at a place where the guy who sold me a lift ticket out of a little tent was also both the guy cooking hot dogs for lunch and the ski patroller. Sketchy!

CTV’s Alberta Primetime has profiled Fortress in a recent segment. The lifts are quiet but the current owners are taking advantage of the great terrain with a cat ski operation that’s been running for a few years. In the video they tease a potential Fortress reopening for the 2018 season!
