Bow Valley Christmas Spirit Update

Once again the generosity of our local community is shining through this holiday season!  Thanks to everyone who has supported our local hamper campaigns.  Here’s an update from our friends at the Bow Valley Christmas Spirit Campaign:

Events so far:
• Collected 8,900 lbs of food from Royal LePage Food Drive on Dec 1. 1,400 lbs were expired and 200 lbs were open, homemade, or damaged so could not be used.
• Collected 1,111 lbs of food from Brewster Stuff a Bus at Save-On Foods on Dec 4.
• Collected lots and lots of toys at Eagles Game of Giving on Dec 3 and from Stuff a Bus on Dec 4
• Collected $11,000 towards our goal of $60,000 – Donate online.

Still needed:
• Still need volunteers for Hamper Packing on Saturday Dec 10 and Hamper Delivery on Thursday Dec 22. To volunteer please call 403.609.3536 or email bowvalleychristmasinfo@gmail.com
• Our wish list for this campaign includes cash donations, toys for babies and teens, gift cards, mitts and hats for all ages, toiletries, and fun activities for the whole families. When donating food items, nutritious foods like canned or tinned meat and fish, beans, vegetables and boxed items like cereal are needed. Think of the non-perishable foods you eat in your own home and donate those.
• Need Help This Christmas? Please call the Christmas Spirit Campaign Office at 403.609.3536 or pick up an application at FCSS Resource Centre in the Civic Centre, Victory Thrift Store, and local schools and churches. All calls and inquiries will be kept in strict confidence.

Drop off locations:
• Save 15% on groceries until Dec 11 at Save On when you donate a toy with a minimum value of $15.
• The Mountain FM Christmas Toy Drive is on until December 12. Drop off locations are at the Canmore Civic Centre – FCSS office, ATB Financial, and Cam Clark Ford. Donations accepted until December 12.

Mountain FM is also proud to support the Santa’s Anonymous Campaign in Banff and Lake Louise through our annual Christmas Toy Drive.  Banff drop-off locations are located in ATB Financial on the lower level of Cascade Shops as well as Banff Town Hall.
