When we discuss climate change it’s usually on a global scale. Total carbon PPM in our atmosphere. Average global temperature changes. Glacial melt increases. But what does it really mean for you and me in the Bow Valley?

I spoke with Lori Rissling Wynn, the Sustainability Coordinator with the Town of Canmore, as well as Ron Remple from BOWDA, about Canmore’s new Climate Change Adaptation and Resiliency Plan, how local businesses can be affected by climate change, why local builders are already ahead of the curve with green building, some new provincial programs promoting sustainability that will be funded through the carbon levy, and the presentation Dr. Mel Reasoner will deliver to the BOWDA luncheon crowd on Thursday at Silvertip.
