Do you know where to find a rufous hummingbird nest, or have you seen any female rufous hummingbirds frequenting your backyard feeder?  A film crew from the BBC is in Canmore and they’re looking for a little help from Bow Valley locals.  While they’ve spotted some males, like the one filmed above in the Canmore area, females and nests have remained elusive.

I spoke with BBC researcher and field director Alex Page along with hummingbird expert Eric Pittman about the project and their search.
