Mountain FM is pitting two burgers from two restaurants head-to-head in a Burger Showdown! Try the Grizzly Paw‘s Vinyl Burger and the Georgetown Inn‘s Triple Crown Chicken Burger and then vote for your favourite by clicking here.

So why does The Grizzly Paw call it the Vinyl Burger?  And why do they serve it on an old 45 record?  There’s an interesting story behind it!

Chef Ross Hanson told me the burger was born during their increasingly popular Beer, Burger, and Beats nights on Sundays.

I was looking forward to giving the Vinyl Burger a try!

Showdown Paw 1

Other than the fact that the vinyl record was covered with napkins (I’d imagine to satisfy restaurant health and safety regulations) the Vinyl Burger looked just as good in real life as it does in the provided promotional shot. The real star of this burger is the Rutting Elk Red BBQ sauce which gives it a fantastic flavour and a bit of zip. A lot of restaurant burgers these days seem to be larger than 1/4 pounds but with the inclusion of the fried egg as well as a bit of bacon you won’t leave feeling hungry! Try it with their famous Granny Bee’s Mountain Roughage salad.

If you’re curious, I ate my burger off a Gordon Lightfoot single.  Ross’ burger was served on a Steve Miller tune.  On their special vinyl nights you can actually put these records on the player and give them a spin!

Showdown Paw 2

The Grizzly Paw’s Vinyl Burger is currently being featured with side fries or salad for $16. Give it a try for lunch or dinner this week!

Tomorrow I’ll be sinking my teeth into The Georgetown Inn’s entry – their Triple Crown Chicken Burger.
