Summit of Excellence Award - Pierre Lemire

Photographer, retired mountain guide, and 50 year area resident Pierre Lemire is being recognized as this year’s Summit of Excellence Award winner at the closing of the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival this Sunday.

I spoke with Pierre about his chance opportunity to summit a tall peak on his first visit here, his photography and some of the locals whose work he admires, and why our area is just as exciting today as it was when he arrived in 1965.
