Mayor's Spotlight on the Arts - Katherine Govier

Over the next week I’ll be sitting down and chatting with the recipients of recognition at this year’s Mayor’s Spotlight on the Arts taking place on September 24th. These five people have helped build the rich artistic tapestry of our community and have made Canmore proud with their achievements!

First up is local author Katherine Govier.  We spoke about her upcoming work Three Sisters Bar and Hotel, how researching her last book led to a chance meeting with Japanese royalty, and her efforts to help newcomers to Canada share their stories of migration and improve their English.

The Mayor’s Spotlight on the Arts kicks off Alberta Culture Days on Thursday, September 24th, 5:30pm at the Canmore Miner’s Union Hall.  Tickets $20, available at the Town of Canmore’s Arts & Events office or by email.
